This was once my home. My grandparents owned it from the early 1930s to the late 1990s. This is how I will always remember it:

The cigar tree was planted by my mom, and the black locust in back (not visible in this shot, for some reason) was planted by my aunt. It hurts to know they’re gone, along with the house, but it’s good to know that the new tenants are making their own memories there.

oh my god. the house on the left is 162/164 East Innis Avenue, which was owned by my grandparents for nearly 60 years. it has since been razed and replaced. The house on the right was owned by Vatie Fuller, who had her yard planted with the prettiest roses on the street, even outshining my own grandmother’s.
